We understand the risks you face on the
front-line which is why we are doing something to care for the
welfare of both you and your family, now and in the future.
Over the years, clients and employees of Towergate Wilsons have
donated time and money to make life easier for people in need of
support. including those serving HM forces personnel mentioned
below. Towergate Wilsons pays these donations through the
Towergate Charitable
Foundation.
Towergate Wilsons designated Charities
Towergate Wilsons support many Forces charities regularly making
donations to the charities listed below as well as other good
causes. In 2008 donations totalled £50,000 and the target for 2009
is £70,000.
ABF The Soldiers Charity
For 66 years ABF The Soldiers Charity (formerly Army
Benevolent Fund) has worked tirelessly to provide support to
serving soldiers, former soldiers and their families in times of
need. The people we support include those with disabilities or
mental illness, people experiencing homelessness or unemployment,
and older people.
The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund
There to
provide financial and practical assistance to anyone who is serving
or has ever served in the RAF, and their partners and dependants
too. The RAFBF provide individual grants to help with care, housing
and mobility, as well as funding specialist services for members of
the RAF family.
Naval Families Federation
The Naval Families Federation (NFF) was established in
2003 to give Royal Naval and Royal Marines’ families an independent
voice. The NFF works with the Chain of Command, service providers
and the Government in order to make them fully aware of the
consequences their policies and decisions make on the naval Service
family as a whole.
Royal Hospital Chelsea
There are few institutions in the United Kingdom with an
unbroken three centuries of service and none of them is so close to
the heart of the nation as "The Men in Scarlet", the Chelsea
Pensioners, and their home, the Royal Hospital Chelsea. Founded in
1682 by King Charles II and intended for the 'succour and relief of
veterans broken by age and war', the Royal Hospital, with its Grade
1 listed buildings, still serves its original purpose and intends
to continue to further its role well into the 21st century.
Combat Stress
Combat Stress is the leading charity
specialising in the care of British Veterans who have been
profoundly traumatised by harrowing experiences during their
Service career and who are suffering from poor mental health as a
result.

The British Limbless Ex-Service Men's Association provides
support and care for amputees and other disabled ex service
personnel.
Veterans Aid
Veterans Aid offers practical and immediate help
to veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. It
provides accommodation, financial assistance, food, clothing,
advice, counselling and advocacy.
