Leading military insurance provider, Towergate Wilsons, is
delighted to have been accepted as a sponsor of the RAF Hockey
Association, the RAF Netball Association and RAF Triathlon.
The sponsorship pledged by Towergate Wilsons will be used in a
number of ways to support the sporting association’s development
throughout the next 12 months. The funding will also help to
support the teams host sports events throughout the year.
The RAF encourages its personnel to take part in sport because
it helps to develop many of the attributes required in service
personnel and in particular has a significant effect on morale and
physical fitness.
Air Vice-Marshal Chris Davison, Director of the Royal Air Force
Sports Board explains that with so many different RAF Sports
associations, raising enough funds for individuals and teams to
compete in their chosen sports can be very difficult and that is
why we welcome the support of businesses like Towergate
Wilsons.
Rod Breeze, Managing Director of Towergate Wilsons comments
that, “Typically the more mainstream sports such as rugby and
football attract some support and that is why we chose to support
netball, hockey and Triathlon”.
“Having provided a range of insurances, including kit, home,
personal accident, travel and motor, to the military for over 60
years we feel we understand their needs. Small things like
supporting these associations teams with group travel insurance for
attending tournaments can make a difference, as does looking after
the individual players”, continues Rod Breeze.
“To compliment the sponsorship team members, and those
affiliated with the Hockey, Netball and Triathlon associations, can
also receive some extra benefits on their kit, contents and home
insurances.
“Our staff hold presentations or surgeries at most of the RAF
bases and wherever possible will be supporting from the sidelines!”
said Rod Breeze.
